I wrote 11 Summer Road Trip Tips for Wealth of Geeks, a new site I have been contributing to. Here is the first paragraph, and I hope you’ll jump over to their site to read the entire thing! What’s your favorite road trip tip? I’d like to know!
(From Wealth of Geeks)
Road trips are fun, and with the warmer weather around the corner and summer break coming up for the kiddos, more Americans will be on the road. I always dreamed of driving cross-country, and recently, I had the opportunity to go from New York to California to see WrestleMania 39 with my son. This 2,800-mile trip took a lot of planning and money, but it was a dream come true for me. I had so much fun and hope to do it again one day. In the meantime, I’m sharing some road trip tips if you want to plan your own adventure! Click here for more.
Also, are you looking for more inspiration? Here are two of my books to help you plan a great road trip:
First up is Road Trip: The Sports Lover’s Travel Guide: This guidebook breaks down–state by state—every place a sports fan will want to visit. The book will be cross-referenced by sports categories and teams, so the reader will have an easy time finding attractions in a particular state by location or team. Included here are everything from restaurants owned by sports celebrities (i.e. Elway’s in Denver or Yao Ming’s YAO Bar & Restaurant in Houston) to such newly minted sites as the National Soccer Hall of Fame Museum at Toyota Stadium in Frisco, Texas. The latest trend–celebrity cruises with your favorite team—are also detailed, as are both birthplaces and grave sites of the stars and such obscure museums as the Ted Williams Hitters’ Hall of Fame in St. Petersburg, Florida. Conferences and a calendar of other fan events round out this essential guide to all things sports.
Then I also wrote: On Location: A Film and TV Lover’s Travel Guide. “

Whether you’re a film or television fanatic or want to see a bit of Hollywood in your neighborhood, On Location: A Film and TV Lover’s Travel Guide is the essential resource for visiting the locations and history behind your favorite films or television series and favorite actors. In this guidebook, professional travel writer and self-proclaimed film and TV buff Lisa Iannucci takes you on a cinematic journey across the country. Enjoy over a hundred profiles on famous movie and television locations, from John Wayne’s westerns to Close Encounters of the Third Kind.
- See the real spots! Sit at the diners used in Top Gun and Breaking Bad.
- Visit museums on your favorite celebrities, such as Lucille Ball and Jimmy Stewart, or television and movies, such as The Christmas Story Museum, from New York to California.
- Statue alert! Snap a photo with a bronzed Elizabeth Montgomery at the Bewitched statue in Salem, Massachusetts.
