Some travelers follow wine trails while some take brewery tours. For me, it’s all about the cupcakes!
Ever since I discovered my love of baking and became obsessed with Food Network’s Cupcake Wars, my daughter Sami and I have been baking cupcakes. In my area in the Hudson Valley, my favorite cupcakes are at Moxie Cup and my favorite part of the cupcake is actually the frosting. Both Moxie’s espresso frosting and coconut frosting are to die for!
Once I started watching reruns of Cupcake Wars on Netflix (don’t judge me), I realized that I wanted to try cupcakes in different towns and cities and see if I found others I loved. So I googled ‘cupcakes near Worcester, Mass’ and found The Queens Cups in Millbury. It was only about 10 minutes away from our hotel so we made the detour over and I grabbed a six pack (again, don’t judge me, I couldn’t decide!).
When I got home, I played Cupcake Wars’ judge and did taste tests. I can tell you this place is DA BOMB! Their marscapone cream cheese frosting not only passed my personal taste test, but I wanted to buy it by the gallon!
Here are just some of the flavors that they mentioned on their Facebook page on a given day: Black Forest, Lemon Raspberry, Funfetti Cream, PB Milkshake, Heath Tiramisu, Oreo Cannoli, PB Nutty Crunch, Hummingbird, Boyfriend Cookie, Cinnamon Roll Cheesecake, White Chocolate Lasagna, Oreo Cream Pie, Strawberry Shortcake and more! GF: Very Vanilla, Raspberry Shortcake Cookies, PB Blossoms, Pupcakes, Whoopie Pies, PB Oreo Brownies and more. But they have others! Like Pineapple Margarita…*drool*
I mean COME ON! I’m actually glad I don’t live near Millbury because I would have a serious problem staying away from this place.
I plan on touring the States one cupcake place at a time. So far, so good! The Queens Cups is amazing and a special shout out to Becca who waited on us and didn’t think that I would mention her in my post.
